I've been playing guitar for about 7 years without ever taking a formal lesson. My dad has played for as long as I can remember. I didn't take initiative until college. Guitar has been a great outlet for me. My preferred style is something I can play on my acoustic and sing to. I love being able to bring music to social interactions at my home and around campfires. If you are interested in learning, my suggestion is to pick a song you like, you and can sing to. Then check out my favorite website for learning: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ The website has Lyrics/chords and tabs for picking. If your chosen song seems too difficult, pick an easier one! A few I might suggest: -Wagon Wheel -Whole Wide Word (Wreckless Eric) -Simple Man -I will Wait (Mumford and Sons) -Brown Eyed Girl If you've never played, you'd be surprised at how many songs you can play with a few simple chords: G, C, D, Em, Am. Good luck! |
